Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book work with Tradewell Plumbing, Heating & Electric or use this website. By booking a visit or approving a written price, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, ask us before work starts.

Quotes and written prices

Repairs start with a diagnostic visit, currently $89, which is credited to the repair if you go ahead. After inspecting the problem, the technician gives you a fixed price in writing. Nothing is done until you approve it. Written prices are valid for 30 days. Prices shown on this website are starting points, not quotes.

If the job changes once work has started, for example because hidden damage is found, we stop, explain what we found, and give you a revised written price. Extra work is only done with your approval.

Booking and access

We give you a two-hour arrival window and text you when the technician is on the way. Please make sure an adult over 18 is home, the work area is reachable, and pets are secured. If we cannot get in at the agreed time, the diagnostic fee may still apply.

Cancelling or rescheduling

You can cancel or move a visit free of charge up to 24 hours before the arrival window. Later cancellations may be charged the diagnostic fee. Emergency call-outs that are cancelled after the technician has set off are charged the call-out fee.

Emergency service

The emergency line is open every day until 10pm. Emergency and after-hours rates are higher than standard rates and are confirmed on the phone before a technician is sent.

Payment

Payment is due when the work is complete unless we have agreed a different schedule in writing. Larger projects such as panel upgrades may require a deposit before materials are ordered. We accept card, bank transfer, and check. Invoices unpaid after 30 days may be charged a late fee where the law allows.

Permits and inspections

Where a job needs a permit or an inspection, we apply for it and include the cost in your written price. Work that needs an inspection is not complete until it has passed. We are not responsible for delays caused by the inspecting authority or the utility company.

Our 12-month workmanship guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the date the job is completed. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did the work, we come back and put it right at no charge. Parts and equipment carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which we register for you where possible.

The guarantee does not cover parts you supplied, damage caused by misuse, accidents, freezing, flooding, power surges, or later work by someone else, or problems with parts of the system we did not work on. To make a claim, call or email us with your invoice number.

Parts you supply

We can install parts or fixtures you have bought yourself, but we cannot guarantee them and our guarantee covers only the labor. If a part you supplied is faulty or unsuitable, return visits are charged at our standard rate.

Our responsibility

We carry general liability insurance and will repair damage we cause while working. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or hidden conditions we could not reasonably have known about, or for indirect losses such as lost income. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

The information on this website is general and may change. Reviews, project examples, and prices shown are for illustration and are not a promise of the result or price for your job. Please do not use the website or its forms for anything unlawful or to send us spam.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown here on the day you approve a written price is the one that applies to that job.
